Toothsome Tuesday, Snickerdoodle Rorschach

Remember those inkblot tests that determined your personality based on what image you saw in the ink? I always thought those tests were a little weird, like maybe the dude randomly blotting ink on cards was the real mental patient.

I think I have stumbled on a really effective method for determining personality. I call it the Snickerdoodle Rorschach. Catchy name, reliable results and yummy treats when you're finished.

Here's how it works:

Cream
1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs

Blend in dry ingredients

2 3/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon salt

Roll in balls and roll in cinnamon and sugar. Place on cookie sheet and mash a little.

Bake at 375 degrees for 7-8 minutes.

Test subjects are welcome to help combine ingredients and mix dough.

The most important part of the test is the rolling out process. Carefully observe test subjects as they roll dough balls.

Take note of body language, shape and size of dough balls, spacing and layout on the baking sheet. Of special interest is the amount of time subject rolls dough ball in cinnamon and sugar.

Draw final observations from the finished product.

Be sure to place all subjects cookies on a special plate, just for them.

Now compare with your own pan of Snickerdoodles, are you a little repressed? Are your cookies lacking originality and creativity? Do you scrimp on the cinnamon and sugar? COME ON! Loosen up a lot little! LET IT ALL HANG...uhh hmm. Now put your cookies on a special plate just for you, pour a tall glass of milk and enjoy your personality test results.

Yum!!! And, you're back, my friend!!

Those look delicious. Can you believe that I have never made those...eaten them, YES! I can tell the boys had a blast.

I am sure they helped you clean up the kitchen and gave it a good scrubbing so you wouldn't be stepping in cinnamon and sugar for the next month. Right? Oh, I know I don't have to ask. Their faces look helpful and angelic!!

What great fun. I love to cook and bake with the kids. Don't really enjoy the clean up, just try not to think about that aspect. I love lots of sugar and cinnimon, bring it on. If your gonna make cookies boys do it right.

I'd like some of your cookies, not so sure about the boys. Never know where those little hands have been, JK.

I have missed your posts as well, no pressure or anything.

I love you.

You gave your test subjects ALL their cookies? Wait till they figure that one out... then you'll become the test subject in their own experiment... "if we go faster, and make more cookies at what point will mum draw the line and not let us eat them all at once?"

I'd say you may be a little repressed but I too like nice, neat, round cookies, but I NEVER scrimp on the toppings. I eat cookies to get the sugar/icing/chocbuds etc.
