Mondays Muttered Mumblings on Tuesday

Halloween is over but I didn't finish decorating and cooking until November 1rst. I don't think I'll take it down until December 1rst. I'll just add some turkeys.

**********************************

Why do I always tell myself I'll swear off sugar until Christmas the day after my kids have gathered 78 lbs of candy from the neighbors. I'm such a dieting tard! We all know it's never gonna happen, especially with 5 dozen left over sugar cookies with orange flavored icing.

**********************************

Sugar cookies with orange flavored icing...YUMMMMMM!

**********************************

Sunday morning #6 asked me to turn off the lights so he could watch his Halloween glow stick glow. "Uhhh, the lights aren't on Sweetie." I said. "I can do a lot of things but turning off the sun isn't one of them." He didn't miss a beat, " The weather man can!" he stated. Sheesh, all this time I thought weathermen were on the nerdy end of the cool-0-meter! Cool-O-meter... Weathermen, get it? Never mind.

There is a woman who goes to our church that is a single Mom with two boys. Since she moved in she has figured I was a great option for free child care since, after all, my entire life is centered around caring for boys. What difference would two more make?

Picture Kate Goslin hair, only platinum blond, skin so tanned it's freakish looking and a tube of eyeliner a day. Until recently when she added platinum hair extensions and quit wearing make-up, she kinda resembles Paris Hilton as a polygamist wife.

Any who, in September her boys attended one of our boys football games with us and her 9 year old hit number seven in the face with his bike to the tune of $350.00 in stitches. Have I heard a humble heart felt apology from this women or her son? H#*l NO!

I want to hate this woman I really do! But, her older son has been a really good friend to #3 and is really a great kid. So Halloween night I say to Older Son, "Hey, you and Little Brother are welcome to stop by for soup while you're out trick-or-treating."

Around 8:00 PM the door bell rings, on my porch is Older Son and Woman I Really Want to Hate. "Uhh...Hi? Are you trick-or-treating?" I ask.
"No, my Mom is just dropping me off" says Oldest Son.
"Uhh...Are you having soup with us then?" I ask Oldest Son.
"Well sure I guess I could stay" says Woman I Really Want to Hate.

What the...

So she stays and eats soup which she needs salt and pepper for. She spends corners and spends 15 minutes telling my good friend Kirstin all the juicy personal details about her ex-husband and the guy she's dating, and her recent car accident. To which Kirstin after nodding and making appropriate responses to this stranger says "Hi, I'm Kirstin, and you are???" It made me laugh pretty hard but Polygamist Barbie missed the sarcasm.

Later I told Adorable Hubby,"It's like trying to hate a retarded puppy!"

Hmmm, it's 11:30, #7 is still in nothing butt a t-shirt....and, this post is deteriorating rapidly so... I'm off to eat the rest of the sugar cookies so I can swear off sugar.

I had comments to make, but then I read about the soup and couldn't get past the thought that I really just want some good clam chowder right now in a yummy bread bowl.

Oh my hell what a great addition to your neighborhood. Next time tell them to stop by for some ultimate fighting and then when they come with their popcorn, ready to watch the fight...kick her in the stomach

I have anger issues

Charitable of you to invite the retarded puppy into your home. Maybe next time you should just put her soup on the porch and let her eat it from a bowl...throw her a dog biscuit to go with it. Guess that wouldn't give you much to blog about though. I wonder if the woman you're trying so hard to hate has something about YOU on her blog??? Think I'll go check.

Anonymous, my favorite honest commenter, thanks for reading my blog. I would love to read the retarded puppies blog and leave her sweet comments like the one you left me, only I would leave my name because, like you said, I'm sooooo charitable.

Ahh, Boy Mom, I read this post at about 4am so I didn't comment (at 4am I have a little trouble stringing words together) but I am so glad I could come back and have another read today. From what Suz says about your cooking, soup you made would be so good I'd be happy to eat it from a bowl on the front porch...

First of all I would be afraid to be your friend in fear you would talk crap about me behind my back, and ashamed to tell people I know you after reading this blog. Its really sad to know this is the example you are setting your your 7 boys. They see from your example its ok to treat others with disrespect. Everyone is a person, and has the right to be treated as such. Even if we don't want to be exactly who they are, we can still treat them as a human being. We are all raised differently and have different struggles in life. Just because she doesn't appear, or behave exactly like you it's no reason to put her on the chopping block for everyone to laugh at. If I only knew you from this blog I would think you were perfect seeing as how you are casting stones at this woman. And whatever happened to good ol' communication? Did it ever cross your mind to be civil and talk to her about the bill, or asking her son to apologize? Maybe she feels really bad about what happened and doesn't know how to approach it. She is probably not as horrible as you are putting her out to be. Oh and last time I looked you didn't look all that great either; bangs...seriously. The 80's called and wants their style back.We can all find fault in everyone. Why not try to find the good in people before we go casting stones. Thank God I only know you from a distance so you cant do the same to me.

I have to say that I have been agonizing over this post for about a week now trying to decide if I would say how I feel about it and how exactly to say it. First of all I am sadden to hear that your nice, fluffy, caring persona was just a facade and that you have to decide when and if you are going to appear "fluffy". I am even more sadden by the fact that you so easily slammed every aspect of this woman's life: appearance, morals, behavior etc. I think the part that bothers me the most is how you tore her down for her appearance, it is comments such as these that have made me feel self conscience my entire life, I refuse to leave the house with out make up or my hair done in fear that someone will say things about me similar to what you have said about this "woman who you want to hate". I think what saddens me the most is that our children learn from our actions more than anything else on earth. If we as mothers think our children do not see our actions and feelings toward others we are fooling ourselves...they see everything. None of us are perfect but all God asks of us is to try our best.

This is Anonymous A not B. I left the first comment not the second, which seems to me to be nearly as much of an assault on you as your assault on the woman you're trying to hate. My name would mean nothing to you as you don't know me or I you except thru your posting...which I only read to begin with because one of your regular readers was so appalled by that post as to bring it to my attention. I can only add one more comment to what you and your other friends have said in response to those that have taken offense to your posting... you will reap what you sow and sadly, I'm afraid your harvest is coming. And now to those same "friends" I pose a question...are you really agreeing or trying not to get on the side of this woman that would cause you to be the topic or her next blog?
